Diving

Locally we have some excellent diving.

The inshore island- Moutohora (Whale Island) and the Rurima group of islands are only a short boat ride out. Volcanic rock formations and reef structures house loads of crayfish, reef fish and amazing topography. Whale Island is also the resting place for the Seafire wreck. A purposely sunk fishing trawler, in order to create an artificial reef structure (an advanced dive)

White Island (Whakaari), the active marine volcano, 48km offshore has spectacular visability and dramatic drop-offs. Large pelagics are abundant.
